]]>My only gripe about blo.gs is that it’s powered by weblogs.com and that seems to be down at the moment.
]]>blo.gs and weblogs.com dependency: we need to work on getting people to ping blo.gs. As I remember, one of the reasons Jim started it was so that the weblog community wouldn’t be completely dependent on weblogs.com, whether because of failure of because of a refusal to accept some pings. So: I can modify my weblogs.com ping bookmarklet generator to open a frameset window that pings both weblogs.com and blo.gs at once, but I suspect that bookmarklet pingers are a tiny percentage of the whole. What can we do about pings from tools? Blogger Pro I’d guess is a lost cause, but I wonder if it’s possible to hack a double ping into Movable Type. And whether there’s a standard bit of ping code for Greymatter that can be hacked – have to admit I haven’t paid much attention to Greymatter lately. Radio almost certainly could be hacked to ping both, but I’m not going to be the one to do it: it’s just too annoying with the scattered documentation that sometimes refers to Radio 8, sometimes 7, and sometimes Frontier 4.
