Parabola’s daughter
Since I requested the screenshot, I should certainly point to EspressoBlog, Phil Ulrich’s new OSX bloggerAPI/metaWeblogAPI client. Yet another reason to want a Mac.
(Parabola’s daughter? Phil did the first weblog API client I ever used, way back when, named Parabola. Still listed as the only bloggerAPI PHP glue at xmlrpc.com, despite having been an app rather than glue, as I remember.)
Yeah, it was an app. I really don’t remember how it got stuck under glue - I may’ve typed the wrong thing when I requested that Dave W. put it in the directory. I’m honestly surprised anyone remembers Parabola, given the amount of trouble I had with it due to the fact that it can only send or receive a rather small amount of data (a limitation of the XML-RPC library I was using). It’s now used in exactly one place, to run a custom input to a Movable Type blog.
Testing EspressoBlog
Just making sure that this is working. I’m trying out EspressoBlog, an OS X app for posting to MT or Blogger powered weblogs. Seems to work so far — I’ll know for sure as soon as this posts. Two things I’m noticing that I may want to toss Phil’s way
Phil, when I was searching for Blogger API clients, do you know just how much time I spent searching for Parabola ? It was listed on Dave W’s XMLRPC page, but also on other sites, so I was thinking with some determination I could get that client, but I never found it :P
It may be the only PHP glue listed but that’s, at least in part, due to Dave Winer’s typically annoying habit of ignoring people (in this case, me) he doesn’t like. I collaborated with Beau Lebens on it and you can reach a copy at his site:

There should be an update soon as the Pyra crew are promising v2.0 of the API.
EspressoBlog 1.3 is released
And who says I never do anything people ask me to?
