True in general, perhaps, but in this case I invited a dozen people into my kitchen, set a single glass and a single plate on the table, and then failed to even put anything in or on them. In a case like that, I think a little gentle throat-clearing and a few pointed looks are in order.
However, your system will work much better once I become multinational, so it worked out well, didn’t it?
