Dawn of a new category

I’ve been casting around for something new to write about, now that RSS is turning back into something that I don’t want to talk about, or even think about. Asa linking to my post about using Mozilla Firebird’s cookie management to be a bad boy and not register with the Strib got me thinking that Firebird might be a good choice. Now that Microsoft is apparently uninterested in browsers outside the operating system except maybe as part of an ISP bundle, anyone who wants something beyond Summer 2001 browser technology on Windows will be looking at Firebird. I’ve been using it since September 25, 2002, and it’s been my default browser since October 12, 2002. I still don’t know nearly enough about how it works, but in that time I have figured out a few things, and there’s nothing like trying to write about something to show you what you don’t yet know.

Sort of stupid of me not to have a technology-minded blog somewhere to do this same sort of thing, so I’m ready and willing to play along here. Firebird it is!
