Archive script generator

If you use Javascript to include your archive links in the main page and archive pages, but would like to have the dates a little more customized, or you would like to limit the amount of space the links use, try my new Blogger archive script generator. You have the choice of listing links in chronological or reverse-chronological (newest first) order, your choice of several date formats (from february 2002 for monthly archives to 3.2.2002 – 9.2.2002 for weekly archives in the UK), your choice of a select (dropdown) menu, a list of links, or a list of the four links closest to the current page (the four newest on your main page, two before and two after on an archive page) with a link to display all the links, and your choice of text or html to display before and after the links.

Congratulations again Phil! This is beautiful. I’ve been playing with it on a blog I set up for testing purposes and I think I’ll incorporate the ”show last four links” option into my site proper when I finally get around to finishing the redesign (2003 perhaps…?) You are da man.

Truly a thing of beauty. If only my blog were this attractive — or interesting.

No problem, but this little comment entry textarea’s too small to type in (which ought to tell me something), so I made a separate entry for it.

Fantastic. Thanks.

Simple to use and makes the whole thing much tidier.

What a wonderful tool. I’d done a lot to edit my Blogger template but the one thing I couldn’t see how to change was the archive links. Thanks SO much for providing this solution.

You rule, Phil! Thanks a ton for the script generator. It worked exactly as advertised. Now my blog is a little less klunky.
