Filling the page

As pk says, it’s a crap meme, but nonetheless and neverthestill, Phil is

… the executive Director of Grace to You, a Christian tape and radio ministry
…basically the only one to blame if you don’t like the comments on these pages
… joined by Vernon Dozier
… “getting real” and helping you unlock your root core
… honored to join the distinguished roster of Columbia Records artists
… taking on all of Brazil
… A Tool!
… Cool
… a big fan of the acoustic guitars made by Minnesota luthier Jim Olson.

But mostly Phil is a bit freaked to see that he’s now the number three Phil on Google. Senator and Presidential candidate Phil Gramm? Less important than me. Phil Ochs and Phil Lesh? Who are they? Dr. Phil McGraw, Oprah’s headshrinker? A page two nobody.

At the time, I thought Shelley was overstating the damage that weblogs could do to Google. Now, I’m not so sure. I am sure I miss her already, even more than I envy her having the strength to throw the weblogging monkey off her back and reclaim her life.

Hah. So you ARE beating me to my quest of becoming the #1 Phil on the net, aren’t you, Ringnalda?! I’m on to you, you wily rogue.

Give Google a chance to catch up: I think I was probably getting a big push from having ”Posted by Phil Ringnalda” at the end of every post, until someone pointed out how silly it was in a one-person blog.

Mmm. Good point.

But in the internet world, you actually are more important than Phil Gramm. Google has every reason to believe someone on the Internet would more likely be searching for you and your internet tech advice rather than an ex-Presidential candidate from Texas.

Did someone say monkey?

And yes, crap meme, but all the cool kids are doing it, so what the heck. =)

I’m starting to like the idea of ”crap meme.” It excuses all sorts of things you really shouldn’t post. I think I’ll go find some ”what foo are you” tests.

Well, maybe it doesn’t quite excuse that.

They’re like a schoolyard full of kids running around like nuts and somebody says, ”Now everybody yell cooties!” It’s fun to watch and sometimes you wanna do it just for the shear abandon, but looking back on them in your blog is like your parents whipping out that video of the time you got your head stuck in the toilet. Funny if you’ve learned to laugh at yourself, but potentially embarassing. hehe

”Crap meme” doesn’t excuse the tests. Or does it? After all, I got bored and did 13 in one night, and posted ALL of them on my ’blog. :|
