I guess I can’t really complain about how rarely deus_x is posting on his various blogs, what with my own torrid pace, and the fact that it has taken me a couple of weeks to mention his dead-on take on the motivation for blogging-tech blogging:

I don’t get a sense of accomplishment anymore from gathering little 3D objects that make sparkles and make other 3D objects make funny noises. It isn’t fun, even, if the objects are in a sort of oblique 2 1/2 D view. Maybe I’m looking for more real impromptu acting – called roleplaying – from these things. Maybe I should hang out on MUDs more often. Or maybe I get more of a sense of accomplishment playing the really big MMORPG in blogspace, hacking together nifty little new technologies and posting about them on 0xDECAFBAD, and getting levelled up in real life. — Leslie Michael Orchard’s Livejournal
