More Google fun

Once you get tired of Googlewhacking, there’s still more fun to be had with Google. Mo Morgan’s Stupid Translator uses Google’s translation service to translate your choice of url from English to another language and back to English, with amusingly less than perfect results. For your snickering pleasure, this page in English-German-English, featuring helpful phrases like “your invitations ‘freely the Hoellenoffa my characteristic’ were never rejected or even discussed.” Indeed.

You know, Google must hate all of us.

No, Google luvs us. With all the stupidity that ”luvs” implies. Today for some reason they hate me (TX Meryl is higher for my name than this site), but shortly after Shrub fell off the couch, I was their number one resource for ”President Bush black eye” based on a silly link to a USA Today story. I said something about a brand of olives, and I beat out the company themselves. And if it wasn’t for us, how would they return high-quality results where the search terms appear a mere 5000 words apart?

And what better endorsement could you ask than Tom’s EnGerLish ”Because it bloody merry is”?
