Mommy, I wanna kitten!

Well, I don’t really want a kitten, but if either of my monster cats tried this, I’d lose the arm at the elbow.

It did remind me of my favorite kitten story, though (sorry Dvorak, has to be told). The last litter of kittens from my last non-spayed cat were born in my dresser, and grew up in my bedroom. Early one morning, Mama decided to move them to a new spot, but got distracted during the move. I was sleeping on my side, with one hand out, cupped palm up, when she decided that she needed a place to park one of her babies. I’ve never loved another animal as much as I loved her when I woke up, and realized that she trusted me to hold her three day old kitten while she finished the move.

Of course.

And you: where have you been? I was starting to wonder if the aliens had abducted you.

Yes and our extra-terrestrial friends have special plans for us… Hello again Phil. Apologies for the silence. I had a big bout of flu where my eyes hurt too much to stare at a screen and after a week or so of cold turkey I felt reluctant to plunge back into the weirdly compulsive world of blogging. (Now, why do I feel like someone backsliding after rehab?) Looks like you’ve been very busy as always. And that is a seriously cute story. Cats are the best. ”See, Greg, if you yell at a dog, his ears will go down and his tail will cover his genitals even if he’s done nothing wrong. It’s very easy to break a dog. But cats make you work for their affection. Cats don’t sell out like dogs do.” — Meet the Parents

Yes it is. Not only impressive that you were so moved BY it, but impressive that you had that level of connection with your cat in the first place. That and such coding acumen… you must be a really terrific guy. (I’m working my way through customising Blogger templates by reading the threads. Thanks *so* much for your notes there.)

How sweeet! That’s the cutest cat story I’ve ever heard. It’s amazing that your cat trusts you that much! [Don’t get me wrong on that one *grin*]
I got two kitties myself, and they’re both just adorable.. ^-^

I’m going to keep coming back to read that story. Sigh. I’ve already read it three times.

I should write about the time my cat was having kittens and didn’t want me to leave her alone, on the day my college paper had its deadline and my article was due. Maybe I will do that.

Do it, do it, do it! The world needs more Cattales. And how was the grass? Hope you didn’t get any stuck between your teeth: that’s really annoying, isn’t it?
