With PHP, you get one blogroll

Saturday, April 20th, 2002

Having finally gotten my sorted-in-update-order dropdown-list blogroll in fairly stable condition, with code that I’m only somewhat ashamed of, I could use a few friendly beta testers with PHP weblogs who would be willing to try out my tutorial on how to it.

Thanks anyway

It’s remarkable how well asking for help works, even when you don’t get an answer, or even finish asking. Probably everyone is familiar with the way that you can struggle with a problem for hours, finally give up and post a question on a message board, and then within a couple of minutes after posting, […]

I get around

Thursday, April 18th, 2002

I do things like my remote dotcomments hack or the archive script generator just as quick ways to solve some problem that’s bothering somebody, and to maybe become a slightly less amateur amateur programmer along the way. I expect that they’ll be used by the person I wrote them for, and maybe a couple of […]

Yet another reason to offer Bloglet subscriptions

Tuesday, April 16th, 2002

While I was waiting for my host to resolve their network problem du jour (I’m learning to dread the words “upstream provider” in any email from anyone) so that I could publish a post, I got my daily Bloglet email, which of course included my then-unpublished post. Thank you, Blogger API. That could also be […]

Reason to keep breathing #17

I certainly didn’t read the Business 2.0 article Blog Nation (I’m no longer naive enough to think I’ll want to read anything a print journalist writes about blogging), but after ruzz pointed out the rather impressive fact that they were actually clueful enough to have heard of BBT I did look at their list of […]

Disappointing searchers since 2001

Sunday, April 14th, 2002

I know this has been done to death already, but I’m not that shy about hopping on the space where the bandwagon used to be. It just astounds me, how completely inappropriate a result I am for most of the searches that land people here. Recent disappointments: Yahoo: opera is much faster than ie or […]

Where to link, where to link…

Sunday, April 14th, 2002

Now that I’ve rewritten the Blogamp display_playlist.js to look for a custom link, and then write a query link if there isn’t one, I find I’m stuck for a useful query link. Where do you, oh gentle reader, want to go when you see that I’ve been listening to Johnny Cash doing “Sunday Morning Coming […]

From the teaser files

I don’t know what they have in mind, but I do know that’s the first time I’ve seen an empty <body /> tag.

Too tired to even link

Sunday, April 14th, 2002

Ever been so tired and fuzzy-headed that it’s almost too much work to even point to a post about being too tired to post?
